Rodd Joseph

A story of loss, redemption, and miraculous healing through the power of Jesus Christ.

Rodd Joseph was born and raised in a Christian, God-fearing family in the Los Angeles area of California. At the age of ten, on August 16, 1981, he gave his life to Jesus Christ—an emotional and defining moment for both him and his family.

As he grew older, however, Rodd drifted away from his faith. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Army, serving three years on active duty, including time overseas. Following his military service, he returned to California and pursued a career in law enforcement—an interest that developed during his time in the Army.

Rodd went on to serve as a police officer in California and Washington State for a total of 27 years, retiring as a Sergeant in 2021. During those years, his life was marked by personal struggles, including two marriages and divorces. Although he had been raised in the faith, his relationship with God was distant, and his life became centered on worldly pursuits.

During his second marriage, Rodd was blessed with two children, a daughter, Brooklynn, and a son, Ryland. Tragically, Ryland passed away at just seven and a half months old due to complications from a medical procedure. This devastating loss led Rodd into deep depression and anger, and he placed the blame on God. Over time, that grief turned into resentment.

In 2018, Rodd was unexpectedly diagnosed with bladder cancer, beginning a six-year journey filled with surgeries and ongoing treatments, including immunotherapy and chemotherapy. Despite these efforts, the cancer continued to return and eventually began to spread. By 2024, doctors were discussing the possibility of removing portions of his organs in an attempt to stop the disease.

In 2019, Rodd married his wife, Rose, a former Catholic who had become a born-again Christian. She consistently encouraged him to attend church, but he initially resisted. After retiring in 2021, the couple relocated to East Tennessee—unaware that this move would become a turning point in Rodd’s life.

A Turning Point

Shortly after arriving, they were invited to attend a local church. Though reluctant at first, Rodd agreed to go. That single decision marked the beginning of a gradual but powerful transformation. Over time, he returned to his faith, and in 2023, he was baptized.

In 2024, Rodd attended a men’s dinner hosted by Spirit Go Before Me Ministries. Though hesitant, he felt compelled to go. At the conclusion of the evening, during a time of prayer, Rodd went forward and was prayed over. In that moment, he experienced an overwhelming sense of peace and what he describes as the physical touch of God.

Later that night, he realized something had changed—he was no longer in pain. In the weeks that followed, medical evaluations confirmed what seemed impossible: the cancer was completely gone. Doctors found no evidence of disease and noted that his organs showed no signs of damage from years of treatments. While doctors could not medically explain the outcome, the results were clear and undeniable.

Rodd knows he was miraculously healed in September 2024.

Today, Rodd has fully dedicated his life to following Jesus Christ. He serves with Spirit Go Before Me Ministries, sharing his testimony and encouraging others to encounter the same life-changing power of God. His story is one of loss, struggle, redemption, and restoration—and a reminder that God is still at work today.
